Welcome to the website dedicated to the Contest La Camera delle Immagini – “Contraddizione Continua”.

Here you will find all the informations about the Competition, from the mode of participation to the development.

This year's theme asks artists to implement the dual ability to gather and interpret stimuli from the media and arts communication, and then to be able to represent them through the forms of art closer to their sensitivity.

We ask to identify the principles of "classic contemporary", or rather those elements that currently define our society and put them in Art.

Since the 1^st edition, "Contraddizione Continua" does not want to be a contest where is required the presentation of a work, but an opportunity to invite artists think about work itself into the history of social and creative processes.

A jury of art experts and academics, chaired by the Director of the art gallery “La Mediterranea Arte” of Saverio Ammendola, will choose the best work. The work that ever be considered as representative of the theme will be awarded a cash prize and the artist will expose his own solo exhibition at the art gallery “La Mediterranea Arte”. For 2011 edition there will be a special prize for the best video-art work, in order to promote interest in this form of expression.

The purpose of the event is not to find a winner, but give the opportunity for young artists to emerge and be known. For this reason will be organized exhibitions about which we will keep you informed!
